Tim Ho Wan

Today I want to share with you a quite new dim sum restaurant at The Atrium - Plaza Singapura called Tim Ho Wan.

Tim Ho Wan is a most affordable one Michelin star dimsum restaurant originally come from HongKong.

The Michelin star plus the people curiosity does explain the long queue over there.  I believed 98% people stay in Singapore heard about this restaurant. It took me at least TWO HOURS to get sit over there. ALAMAK, two hours just for dim sum?!?!?!

Anyway, here is my review:
We tried 80% of their menu, like: Steamed Egg cake, Baked Bun with BBQ Pork, Pan Fried Carrot Cake, Pork Dumpling with Shrimp, Prawn Dumpling, Glutinous Rice Dumpling, Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce, Beef Ball with BeancurdSkin, Beancurd Skin Roll with Shrimp, Spring Roll with Egg White, Congee with Lean Pork, Century Egg and Salted Egg, Vermicelli Roll with BBQ Pork, Dumpling Teochew Style and Tonic Medlar & Osmanthus Cake.

The food that you die-die MUST try is their Baked Bun with BBQ Pork.

I never tried the Hong Kong’s version of this bun, but I can confirm (with guarantee chop) that those buns are awesomely delicious. I especially love the top skin of the bun; it is like Roti boy style.

FYI, the rule over there is one set (contains of three buns) per customer. I believed, everyone (who queued up for two hours) will buy the maximum sets they could. Like us, example, four of us bought four sets of this bun. We ate two sets over there and ‘da bao’ the remaining two sets.

The other foods that I recommend are: Pork Dumpling with Shrimp, Spring Roll with Egg White and Tonic Medlar & Osmanthus.

The Pork Dumpling with Shrimp is sweet, tasty and yummy. It is so tasty to make us ordered another three more sets (two for take away).

Spring Roll with Egg White is unique, crispy and simply tasty. Although I still prefer Jakarta’s spring roll, their Spring Roll is not a bad option.

The foods that just so-so for me are: Steamed Egg cake, Prawn Dumpling, Glutinous Rice Dumpling, Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce, Beancurd Skin Roll with Shrimp, Congee with Lean Pork, Century Egg and Salted Egg and Vermicelli Roll with BBQ Pork.

I’m not a Steamed Egg cake lover, so I can't give justice on this dish. But their Steamed Egg cake’s texture is so sweet, soft, fluffy and smooth. You might want to try it.

The foods that I love less are: Pan Fried Carrot Cake, Dumpling Teochew Style and Beef Ball with BeancurdSkin.

Will I queue another two hours for Tim Ho Wan? ABSOLUTELY NO!!

But, I will visit them again when their hotness level a bit cooling down =P
