Marble Slab Creamery

Last month, I, my sister and Serene tried some of waffle Ice cream from Marble Slab Creamery.

We choose Cream Brulle and Red Velvet Cake flavour, Pink Grapefruit Sorbet and Matcha Infusion flavour, Chocolate Swiss and Double Dark Chocolate flavour.

The best combination among those three was Cream Brulle and Red Velvet Cake (my sister’ flavour). The taste is very nice and the presentation itself looks yummy. Ceh!!!

The second best was Chocolate Swiss and Double Dark Chocolate (Serene’s flavour). I believed this combination is most suitable for the Choco lover....

The worst combination ever was Pink Grapefruit Sorbet and Matcha Infusion flavour (My own choice of flavour, S**T!!). Yes, I choose this combination by MY SELF. It’s a shame but I admit it.. hahaha..

The taste is super sour (from Pink Grapefruit Sorbet) and bitter (from Matcha Infusion). Can you imagine how weird the combination between sour – bitter altogether???

Will I go there again? Yes. I will NOT order the Pink Grapefruit Sorbet and Matcha Infusion flavour again...hehehe.

Poulet

Today I want to review some of dishes that I tried at Poulet - ChinaTown Point.

Over there, we ordered Poulet Roti, Oxtail de Bourguignon and Tiramisu.

They claimed that Poulet Roti is their star dish. The poultry is brined for a full day in a traditional recipe then placed in the rotisserie for a slow roast until the skin tans to a golden brown. Lastly they put their home-made mushroom chardonnay sauce to create perfect combination.

For me personally, I will just thumbs up for the chicken. But the sauce is different story. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The sauce’s taste is similar with the coconut milk. It's too savoury and I prefer to eat the chicken without the sauce.

Oxtail de Bourguignon consists of pressure-cooked oxtail in red wine sauce with carrot and onion. I like this one. The oxtail is tender and tasty. The oxtail portion is quite big and it’s taste delicious as well.

Tiramisu contain of Mascarpone Cheese, sponge finger soaked in espresso and rum syrup. The taste is very nice. If you visit Poulet, you must order their Tiramisu.

Will I go there again? Hem, maybe yes once in a while

Poulet Roti (Half Chicken) S$15.80

Oxtail de Bourguignon S$15.80

Tiramisu S$7.80

Bangkok Jam

Bangkok Jam is Thailand style restaurants that open at the extension of Plaza Singapura.

The restaurant’s interior is quite unique. The decoration over there makes you feel that you are eating at the cosmopolitan area of Thailand.

Over there, we ordered Bangkok Mixed Grill, Banana Tempura with Hot Caramel Sauce and Signature Beef Noodle Soup.

For me personally, the star dish among those three is their Signature Beef Noodle Soup. The soup is very tasty and the beef is tender as well. It's a good choice.

Bangkok Mixed Grill is not a bad choice. It is combination of grilled squid, prawns, chicken and beef. The taste is nice and the sauce makes the overall taste delicious. But still, if you want to try authentic Thailand food, you better try their Signature Beef Noodle Soup.

For the dessert, we tried Banana Tempura with Hot Caramel Sauce. It is served with one scoop of ice cream (Vanilla / Chocolate). I like this dish. It reminds me with the Fried banana that I usually find in Jakarta.

Will I go there again? Yes.

Kafe Betawi

Today I want to share another nice restaurant at Jakarta called Kafe Betawi.

PS: from Wikipedia, The name "Betawi" derived from the name "Batavia", the old colonial name of Jakarta.

Kafe Betawi is a restaurant with Betawi concept and of course sells many types of Betawi’s dishes. Nowadays, it's quite difficult to find Betawi foods. Their interior is similar with the Betawi house.

Over there, I ordered Jus Betawi, Tempe Mendoan, and Laksa Betawi.

Laksa Betawi contains chicken cooked in coconut milk served on a rice cake and vermicelli garnished with local basil leaf (Kemangi).

This Laksa Betawi is very very tasty. Actually I am quite surprise as I didn't put so much expectation on this dish.

Tempe Mendoan is a thinly sliced tempe, battered and deep fried quickly, resulting in limp texture. This one is also not bad.

Jus Betawi (Betawi Juice) mixed of Fermented Cassava (Tape) and Avocado. Although I like ‘Tape’, I didn't like this Juice. It's too sweet for me.

Will I go there again? Yes, but that time I will try another juice.

Laksa Betawi IDR30.000

Tempe Mendoan IDR10.000

Jus Betawi IDR20.000
