Charlie Brown Café

Good Day to All!!

Today I want to share super good news for all the “Charlie Brown and Snoopy” fans!!

Please allow me to introduce: Charlie Brown Café @ 313 Somerset =)

I love to see the overall layout of this restaurant. You may find a lot of Charlie Brown and Snoopy decorations over there (such as posters, toys, accessories, etc.).

Over there, we ordered Charlie All-Time Favourite, Italian baked rice and Charlie`s Suzette.

Charlie All-Time Favourite set consists of:  juicy chicken Chipolatas, Turkey ham and 2 sunny side ups, served with crepe. The taste is nice & with the portion that they gave, I can guarantee that you will feel full after ate that.

Italian Baked rice is also very nice. This dish consists of: minced beef in tomato sauce with garlic parsley rice baked in mozzarella.

For drink, we tried their Charlie Cappuccino and Charlie Mocha.

Actually, I am not a coffee lover. But for the sake of getting a picture of this cute Charlie Cappuccino, I had no choice to ordered it too =P

Overall, the dishes over there are very nice.

FYI, I tried those dishes a few years back, which before I created this blog. So, the dishes I mentioned might not in their menu anymore. You may check directly to Charlie Brown Café for more information.

Red Hornbill

Hello all! Today I want to share with you the Sarawak noodle @ bedok hawker centre, called Red Hornbill.

I knew about this place from one of my colleague, "Alex".

He says that over there they have the best Kolo mee in Singapore (this noodle is originally come from Sarawak, Kuching).

Red Hornbill offers 3 different menus: Sarawak Laksa, Kolo mee and Soya Sauce Noodle.

We tried all three dishes.

Sarawak laksa consists of bee-hoon, shrimp, chicken, egg, beansprout and laksa gravy. The portion is big and they are very generous in giving the shrimp and shredded chicken. The laksa gravy is really nice.

The Kolo mee and Soya Sauce Noodle are both nice as well. I think these two types of noodles are kind of similar; the only different is the sauce they used.

I prefer the Soya Sauce Noodle. It's tastier than the Kolo mee and the noodle is not dry because of the soya sauce.

I am really impressed with the owner!! With the range of S$4-$4.50, they are very generous in giving the meat and every dish is in big portion.

Overall, it's really worth to try. I am sure I will revisit them again soon :)

Tong Heng

I love Friday night most (if not required me to do OT, of course). On this time, I and my colleagues love to hunt new hang out place. Last week, we went to Tong Heng @ China Town.

Heard about Tong Heng from newspaper and decided to try their cakes.

Tong Heng sells quite lot varieties of Chinese cake. We tried Egg Tart, Coconut Egg Tart, Dragon Phoenix Cake, Curry Chicken Crisp and Kaya Omelette Toast Dessert.

I was impressed with their Coconut Egg Tart. It is very nice and has a sweet taste from the coconut. The texture of their egg tart is really soft.

My colleague says that the Curry Chicken Crisp over there is better than the curry puff from Old Chang Kee. But for me, the Old Chang Kee one is better =P

Their Kaya Omelette Toast Dessert is a quite unique. They put Kaya on top of the Omelettes. This dessert is best when you eat it hot, it’s crispier.

Be sure to try their Coconut Egg Tart when you are around China Town!!

Happy eating!!

PS: Kaya is a delectable local jam that is made from eggs, coconut milk, and sugar and flavoured by the unique pandan leaves

Egg Tart S$1.40, Coconut Egg Tart S$1.50, Dragon Phoenix Cake S$3.20

Kaya Omelette Toast Dessert S$2.50

Curry Chicken Crisp S$1.30

Professor Brawn Café

Last week we went to Velocity Novena to try this ‘quite attractive layout’ restaurant called Professor Brawn Café.

They offer many varieties of Western dishes. Their signature dishes are Prof`s Signature Fish & Chips and Gourmet Sausage with Rosti.

For the Gourmet Sausage with Rosti, you may choose the type of your preferable sausages. Such as Chicken Bratwurst, Black Pepper Chicken Sausage, Cheesy Chicken Sausage, English Pork Bratwurst, Spicy Italian Pork Sausage or Swiss cheese Pork Sausage.

We tried their Cheesy Chicken Sausage. Actually, there is nothing special with their Rosti. It's like a regular Rosti that you might found in another restaurant, but I love their cheesy Sausage.

For me, personally, I prefer their signature Fish and Chips. It's tasty and crispy. I guess it’s because they add ginger as one of their ingredients.

Overall, Professor Brawn Café is a nice place to have your lunch or dinner.

Prof`s Signature Fish & Chips S$13.90

Gourmet Sausage with Rosti S$14.90

Suki-Ya

Suki-Ya is one of new restaurant opened at Tampines Mall recently. This Japanese restaurant offers ala-carte or buffet menu as option.

We tried the buffet over here to answer the curiosity from one of my blog reader "Anihe".

Although their foods varieties are lesser than normal buffet at other restaurant, their foods are fresh and it never out of stock (based on my experience when I visited this restaurant).

For the meat, they only have 1 type of chicken, beef and pork. They also have four different type of soups, which are: Sukiyaki, Shabu Shabu, Tonyu Miso and Kimuchi.

For the side dishes, they have udon, ice cream, many varieties of vegetable, mushrooms and balls as well.

You must try the chicken cheese ball. It's very nice.

Overall, I quite satisfied had my dinner over there. If you don't mind with their less variety of foods, you may consider try to eat over there.

Peach Garden Noodle House

Have you go to Garden by the Bay before? If haven't and planning to, you may consider having your lunch or dinner at Peach Garden Noodle House.

Peach Garden Noodle House is one of many restaurants inside SuperTree Dining building. Other than Peach Garden, you may also find Hill Street Coffee Shop, Casa Verde, Texas Chicken and Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie.

Their unique dishes tempt us to eat over there. We ordered Steamed Fresh Prawn Dumpling with Charcoal Powder, Pineapple Shaved Ice and the Dragon Fruit Shaved Ice.

Steamed Fresh Prawn Dumpling with Charcoal Powder taste nice, but it’s not that special for me. The taste was similar like other Dumpling that I ever tried. But the ‘black dumpling’ idea was brilliant.

Pineapple Shaved Ice and Dragon Fruit Shaved Ice are another unique creation from Peach Garden Noodle House. The tastes are really like Pineapple and Dragon Fruit. I guess they didn't put any extra sugar on it as to preserve their original taste. I prefer like that because it's healthier and nicer.

Eat Pineapple Shaved Ice and Dragon Fruit Shaved Ice will refresh you after you complete the journey exploring the Garden by the Bay.

Steamed Fresh Prawn Dumpling with Charcoal Powder (3pcs) S$5.80

Pineapple Shaved Ice S$8.80

Dragon Fruit Shaved Ice S$8.80
