Tim Ho Wan

Today I want to share with you a quite new dim sum restaurant at The Atrium - Plaza Singapura called Tim Ho Wan.

Tim Ho Wan is a most affordable one Michelin star dimsum restaurant originally come from HongKong.

The Michelin star plus the people curiosity does explain the long queue over there.  I believed 98% people stay in Singapore heard about this restaurant. It took me at least TWO HOURS to get sit over there. ALAMAK, two hours just for dim sum?!?!?!

Anyway, here is my review:
We tried 80% of their menu, like: Steamed Egg cake, Baked Bun with BBQ Pork, Pan Fried Carrot Cake, Pork Dumpling with Shrimp, Prawn Dumpling, Glutinous Rice Dumpling, Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce, Beef Ball with BeancurdSkin, Beancurd Skin Roll with Shrimp, Spring Roll with Egg White, Congee with Lean Pork, Century Egg and Salted Egg, Vermicelli Roll with BBQ Pork, Dumpling Teochew Style and Tonic Medlar & Osmanthus Cake.

The food that you die-die MUST try is their Baked Bun with BBQ Pork.

I never tried the Hong Kong’s version of this bun, but I can confirm (with guarantee chop) that those buns are awesomely delicious. I especially love the top skin of the bun; it is like Roti boy style.

FYI, the rule over there is one set (contains of three buns) per customer. I believed, everyone (who queued up for two hours) will buy the maximum sets they could. Like us, example, four of us bought four sets of this bun. We ate two sets over there and ‘da bao’ the remaining two sets.

The other foods that I recommend are: Pork Dumpling with Shrimp, Spring Roll with Egg White and Tonic Medlar & Osmanthus.

The Pork Dumpling with Shrimp is sweet, tasty and yummy. It is so tasty to make us ordered another three more sets (two for take away).

Spring Roll with Egg White is unique, crispy and simply tasty. Although I still prefer Jakarta’s spring roll, their Spring Roll is not a bad option.

The foods that just so-so for me are: Steamed Egg cake, Prawn Dumpling, Glutinous Rice Dumpling, Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce, Beancurd Skin Roll with Shrimp, Congee with Lean Pork, Century Egg and Salted Egg and Vermicelli Roll with BBQ Pork.

I’m not a Steamed Egg cake lover, so I can't give justice on this dish. But their Steamed Egg cake’s texture is so sweet, soft, fluffy and smooth. You might want to try it.

The foods that I love less are: Pan Fried Carrot Cake, Dumpling Teochew Style and Beef Ball with BeancurdSkin.

Will I queue another two hours for Tim Ho Wan? ABSOLUTELY NO!!

But, I will visit them again when their hotness level a bit cooling down =P

Dessert Hut

At People Park Centre, there is one famous dessert shop named Dessert Hut. Among other competitor at the same area, this shop is still the winner for me.

Over there, we ordered Yam with Black Glutinous Rice, Eggcurd with Mango and Sesame Cream.

I like Eggcurd with Mango the most. It's very refreshing and nice.

Yam with Black Glutinous rice also not bad. It's warm and tasty.

Sesame Cream is just a normal dessert for me. The taste is the same like normal sesame cream that you can found in another dessert stall.

Will I go there again? Yes.

Tong Shui Desserts

Today I will share with you one dessert stall named Tong Shui Desserts. Located at People's Park Centre, this dessert stall sells many types of cold and warm desserts.

Over there, we ordered Ice Nata with Jackfruit, 8 Bean Treasure with Chin Chow and Strawberry Surprise.

Strawberry Surprise dessert tastes refreshingly sweet. It's combination between mint (from the ice cream) and sweet (from the strawberry syrup and the fruits). The fruit is fresh enough.

8 Bean Treasure with Chin Chow also not bad. Although I am not a bean type, but I do like this dessert.

I don't like Ice Nata with Jackfruit. It's because they put coconut milk. I prefer they put ice cream instead.

Will I go there again? Maybe yes, but surely I will not order Ice Nata with Jackfruit anymore.

Ming Kee Chicken Rice

Ming Kee Chicken Rice is a famous chicken rice stall at Bishan area.  The queue over there is very long.

Ming Kee Chicken Rice only sells the steamed chicken. They don't have the roasted chicken.

Actually steamed chicken is not a cup of my tea. It's because steamed chicken is tasteless. But this one is different. Their sauce makes the chicken rice very fragrant and tasty. So, for the healthier choice plus tasty, why not, right?

They have this special way in serving the chicken. The chicken is served in cold condition. They keep the chicken on the big bowl that contains ice inside. So you may taste cold chicken when you chew it.

This is the first time I taste cold chicken rice. It's quite unique and nice. I like it.

Will I go there again? Yes.

Dome

Today I will share with you all another decent western restaurant at Plaza Singapura. It called Dome restaurant.

Over there we ordered Seared Herb Satchi Fillet, Chorizo Sausage & Hawaiian Chicken and Chocolate Lava with Gelato.

Seared Herb Satchi Fillet served with cheese potato wedges, garden vegetables and topped with refreshing fresh mango tomato salsa. The fish is very fresh and tasty. This dish is worth to try.

Chorizo Sausage & Hawaiian Chicken has mushroom in garlic cream sauce. This dish taste also not bad either.

Chocolate Lava with Gelato is sweetly nice. The chocolate is warm. You can taste the combination between hot and cold at the same time by eating chocolate Lava with Gelato all together.

Will I go there again? Yes.

Seared Herb Satchi Fillet S$15.90

Chorizo Sausage & Hawaiian Chicken S$14.20

Ponggol Nasi Lemak Centre

I believe that whoever staying in Singapore would ever hear about Ponggol Nasi Lemak. Yup, it is so famous. Recently, I went there and here is my review.

We went there around 10 p.m. And as expected still have quite a lot customers (like more than 10 people) queued up for their late supper.  Their service was quite good so we no need to wait that long for our turn.

Each of us choose egg, chicken and otah dish to company our nasi lemak. Overall, the taste is quite yummy.

What makes this nasi lemak so special? I believed it's because their coconut rice and the chili. The coconut rice is very fragrant and the chili is tasty (not that spicy). It's different with normal nasi lemak that you can usually found in Singapore.

Will I go there again? Absolutely Yes.

Hifumi

The new Plaza Singapura Shopping Centre consists of many restaurants. One of the restaurants that I will review today is Hifumi restaurant.

Hifumi is a-la-carte Japanese restaurant with all-you-can-eat appetizer. This concept is quite unique.

Over there, we ordered Chicken Soup Curry set, Chicken Oyakoni set and Tonteki set. All the set meals come with miso soup, rice and all-you-can-eat appetizer bar.

Chicken Soup Curry is a stewed chicken and vegetables soup curry. The curry is not so spicy, the chicken is tender and the taste is nice.

Chicken Oyakoni is a simmered Chicken with Onion and Egg. It's best to eat when still hot.

Tonteki is a tokyo style pan-fried pork steak with Hifumi sauce. The meat is a bit hard for me.

I prefer Chicken Soup Curry and Chicken Oyakoni tham Tonteki.

Note: Chicken Soup Curry and Chicken Oyakoni are their recommended dishes.

The good thing about this restaurant is, you can try the appetizer as much as you can. Only Appetizers are FOC, the beverage is under sales.

The bad thing is you are only allowed to stay in this restaurant max 2 hours. So this restaurant might not suitable for some occasion that need more time to chit-chat, like friend/colleague reunion dinner.

Will I go there again? No, I would prefer to try another Japanese Restaurant.
