Miam Miam

Looking for a cozy place to have lunch / dinner or maybe to enjoy your tea time around Westgate Mall? You may try Miam Miam.

Miam Miam is a fusion concept restaurant that is collaborated between French Artisanal cuisine and Japanese culinary.

After seeing the menu, I was more tempting to try desserts rather than the main course. So, I ordered Valrhona Chocolate Souffle and French Toast.

FYI, Valrhona Chocolate Souffle and French Toast are their recommended desserts.

Valrhona Chocolate Souffle is very nice. Once you try it, you will be craving for more of this. This Valrhona Chocolate Souffle is best to eat when it's still hot.

French Toast is also not bad. It's tasty. Combination between bread, ice cream and syrup are delicious. This portion is quite big. I guess, one portion of this French Toast is suitable for two people.

Overall, it's a pleasant experience to me. Desserts are nice and desserts pictures are worth to show off on Instagram :p

Will I go there again? Yes, next time I will try the main course.

(7")2 Pizza

Happy Thursday, guys!!! Today I want to share with you pizza stall that I found at IMM Building. The name of this place is 7 Inch Square Pizza.

Not like any normal pizza, pizza at (7")2 Pizza has a quite unique shape. It’s a square shape crispy thin crusted pizza.

They offer many different toppings, such as Tom Yum Pizza, Hawaiian Pizza, Chicken Sausage Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, Mushroom Pizza, BBQ Chicken Pizza, Sambal Prawn Pizza, Meat Lover Pizza and Triple Cheese Pizza.

Other than those toppings, they also have Vegetarian Pizza which is especially made for vegetarian peoples (ehm, not bad yeah).

I tried Pepperoni Pizza. This pizza is one of the most popular choice. After they cut the pizza, you can get nine small pieces of pizza. Not bad right.

This pizza is delicious and crispy. The price is also quite affordable.

Will I go there again? Yes, of course. Next time I will try the other toppings =)

Brown Sugar Agarasa

Today I want to show you about my finding 'Brown Sugar Agarasa' on Okinawa Food Fair at Isetan Scotts Supermarket last month.

Curious what is Agarasa? Agarasa is an Okinawan steamed sponge cake. Normally, they cook it with brown sugar, so Japanese people call this cake Brown Sugar Agarasa.

Brown Sugar Agarasa has a sweet taste that comes from Brown Sugar. It's very delicious.

For me, it's best to eat Agarasa when it's still hot.

Catch `N Bite

Feeling hungry after shopping at Westgate Mall? You may try Catch `N Bite. Catch 'N Bite is a sandwich shop that is focusing on selling seafood sandwiches and seafood tapas.

Catch `N Bite is famous with their Crunchin's crab. Crunchin's crab consists of crunchy soft shell crab layered with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and pickles, in between a toasted ciabatta bun.

Too bad that day was not my lucky day, I couldn't try the Crunchin's crab. It's because of overwhelming response in that day, they had no more stock of crunchin's crab.  So I decided to ordered another dish 'Ultimate Lobster'.

Ultimate Lobster consists of Premium Maine lobster, served with fresh vegetables on a toasted ciabatta bun. Although I can't tried their signature dish, I was still glad that I tried Ultimate Lobster. I like the Ultimate Lobster so much. They also gave generous lobster meat topping and the price was affordable.

Anyway, Thank you so much to Catch `N Bite management for the food tasting invitation.

Pique Nique

Confused about what you should eat at JCube Shopping Centre? Then you might want to try Pique Nique.

Pique Nique offers a wide range of western foods and cakes. I believed Youngsters will love their foods and their restaurant decoration.

We ordered The Big Breakfast Burger, The Tokyo Connection Burger, Banana Split Cupcake and Red Velvet Cake.

The Big Breakfast Burger consists of Beef patty, bacon, fried egg, grilled tomato, montery jack cheese, lettuce and sautéed onion. The beef patty and bacon are delicious.

The Tokyo Connection Burger consists of Teriyaki Chicken Leg, mashed potato, wasabi mayo, tomato and lettuce.

The chicken absorbs teriyaki sauce perfectly, and it was nicely cooked. I love it, but not so in love with the combination of wasabi mayo. It's a weird combination for me. It’s just that I don’t like wasabi too much.

Banana Split Cupcake contains of banana cake, walnut French buttercream frosting, chocolate ganache and caramel.

Red Velvet Cake has a cream cheese frosting. I like their Red Velvet Cake more than Banana Split Cupcake. But overall, both cakes have a nice taste.

Will I go there again? Yes, but only if I already tried all of the restaurants at JCube =P

Which one is more preferable: Main dish or Dessert? Their main dish is “worthier” than their dessert.

The Tokyo Connection Burger S$12.80

Saboten

Introduce new Japanese Restaurant at IMM!! It called SABOTEN.

Just FYI! In Japan, Saboten is considered as one of the famous and largest Tonkatsu restaurant that started in Shinjuku 1966. Ehm.. Sounds good, right?!?!?

Last month, I went there and ordered Chicken Katsu Set ($18) and Tenderloin Katsu Curry ($19).

What makes this Japanese restaurant different with the rest?  For some of the set, they provide fresh shredded cabbage (you can keeps top up this dish, FOC).

This cabbage comes with different choices of sauce which are Creamy Sesame and Yuzu Vinegar sauce. For me personally, I prefer the Creamy one instead of the Yuzu Vinegar. It's really fresh and delicious.

Chicken Katsu set comes with a bowl of rice, a bowl of Tonkatsu sauce with sesame seeds, a bowl of miso soup, a plate of fresh cabbage and ice cream. You can refill the rice, miso soup and cabbage without any additional charge (FOC).

Before eat the Chicken Katsu, you need to grind your sauce personally. Just grind the sesame seeds with a wooden stick and mixed it with the tonkatsu sauce from an earthen urn.

I love the idea of having the fresh shredded cabbage with the chicken katsu. The freshness and crispiness of this dish is surprisingly great.

As for the tenderloin Katsu curry; this dish not bad either. The curry is not that spicy and the tenderloin Katsu is crispy enough. But, this dish’ portion is a bit too small for me :P

Additional point for this restaurant: the waiters over there are patience when explaining the correct way to grind the sesame seeds and what type of the sauces that they have.

Southwest Tavern

As promised in my last post, today’s post is about restaurant in Singapore.

I choose to review one special cowboy themed restaurant, called Southwest Tavern as for the starter.

Last Friday, I was invited to review Southwest Tavern. Reached there, I was surprise with their restaurant decorations. It is so damn fanCOWStic. Love the vintage, comfy and cosy country feeling.

Over there, they served Bloomin`s Onion, Bacon wrapped Tenderloin, Grilled US corn-feed pork chops, Beer Butt Sakura Chicken, Chicken Sausages, Suicide Wings, Southwest Puppies and cake.

Suicide Wings is a “star” dish on Southwest Tavern restaurant. If you are wondering why they called it "Suicide Wings", it’s because this chicken is super duper hot (spicy). For the spicy lover, you MUST try this star dish.

FYI! For the spice recipe, they use Jolokia as a chili ingredient. Jolokia is a chili pepper which previously recognized by Guinness World Records as the hottest pepper in the world, it is 10,000 times hotter than Tabasco sauce.

I tried a very small piece of this Suicide Wings and you know what, I SURRENDER. It was toooooo spicy; it made my tears dropped without even me realized it and my stomach felt so hot.

Beware: If you cannot take any spicy food, I would never recommend you to finish this dish ALONE. If you still dare, I could only say “My Condolence” :P

Bloomin`s Onion is a one large onion which is cut to resemble a blooming flower before they fried it. This Bloomin`s Onion is crispy and surprisingly not oily.

Bacon wrapped tenderloin and Grilled US corn-feed pork chops are also nice. Both meat are tender and have a delicious smoked flavour.

Beer Butt Sakura Chicken is another speciality dishes over there. It called "Beer Butt Chicken" because they put half can of beer into Chicken butt.

This cooking’s technique to roast a chicken in the oven / grill is just brilliant. It makes the chicken’s meet become so tender (the breast meat is become the same tender level as a thigh meat) and have a crispy skin.

Don't worry; you will not get drunk after eating Beer Butt Sakura Chicken.

Southwest Tavern’s Chicken Sausages, Southwest Puppies and the cake (which is similar with Chocolate Lava Cake) are also very nice.

Currently, Southwest Puppies and the cake are not available in the menu. I believed they will launch to sell those near in the future.

Over there, they have a challenge called "The Death Wings Challenge". To win this challenge, you need to finish 6 pieces of Suicide Wings and a pint of beer / soft drink in 15 minutes. If you win, both Suicide Wings and a pint of beer / soft drink will be on house.

Thanks to the Southwest Tavern’s management for the opportunity reviewing this awesome restaurant. It is just a great place for gathering and hang out on Friday or weekend night with friends or families.

Nana's Green Tea Pte. Ltd.

Nana's Green Tea is a restaurant at JCube that you may consider to enjoy your tea time.

You MUST try their Matcha Parfait. It's very very nice, two thumbs up for this.

During the Great Singapore Sale, (Lucky me!) Nana's Green Tea offers a discount for Matcha Parfait. From S$11.80 became S$8.80.

Other than that, you may try the Galette.

FYI, Galette is a traditional dish originated from Bretagne Region in France and famous in Japan.

I chose Sausages and Potatoes Galette. The appearance is quite unique. The taste is normal, but I love the Sausages.

Will I go there again? Of course I will eat their Matcha Parfait again!
