Although it's a bit too late, I still want to show you my favourite Indonesian moon cake. It's different with Singapore moon cake and has many flavours, such as Ham & Sausages, Chocolate, Milk, Pineapple, Mango, Durian, Jackfruit and many more.
The most famous moon cake (a.k.a Kue Bulan / Kue Tiong Ciu Phia) brand in Indonesia is Sin Hap Hoat from Gouw Boen Tjoan Jakarta and Pancoran Glodok.
Sin Hap Hoat company was built from 1909. Until now, they still use traditional method to make this moon cake and never use preservatives. Also, they still use the old spelling of the flavour on the top of the moon cake, like Tjoklat means Cokelat (Chocolate), Kedjoe means Keju (Cheese), Tjempedak means Cempedak (Jackfruit).
They only sell this moon cake once a year to celebrate the moon cake festival.
My mom bought Chocolate, Cheese and Jackfruit flavours for me. I love all flavours. The flavour topping is very thick and the taste is very flavourful. I love this brand better than any other moon cake.
I had eaten this moon cake since I was small. Until now, I still love this moon cake.
