OTTO Locanda

OTTO Locanda is one decent restaurant which located near Red Dot Building.

Interested with their restaurant's decoration, we decided to had dinner at OTTO Locanda after went to art & craft bazaar at Red Dot Building.

As we didn't plan to visit this restaurant at the first place, we just wore a very casual outfit: t-shirt and jeans. Yeah, our outfit on that day was not that proper to dine over there. I realized it after we got some weird looks from the other customers. Hehehe. No problem for me, (frankly speaking) I don't give any damn of what they are thinking, since I'm the customer same as them (anyway, customer is a king, right??) :p

Ok, back to the business.

We ordered Carne Mista alla Brace Secondo Tradizione. This dish consists of assorted grilled meat with marinated grilled vegetables and field herbs. It's for serves 2 people. The meat are tasty and tender. The sausages also nice. They also marinated very well. Please note that they need to grilled it more than half an hour.

We also ordered Sorbetti e Gelati della Casa. It consists of homemade ice cream and Sorbet. This dessert is nice and refreshing.

Will I go there again? Maybe yes.

Sorbetti e Gelati della Casa S$6.00

Carne Mista alla Brace Secondo Tradizione S$54

Man bok BBQ

Today want to share with you another authentic Korean restaurant which located Tanjong Pagar area. It called Man Bok BBQ.

Reached there, I was quite surprise with the restaurant’s ambience. The restaurant’s space is not that big, but it’s quite comfy and the BBQ smell is not that strong.

I believed, there is one thing that will attract young girls or even ladies, all the waiter over there are Korean. They will help you in cutting and barbequing the BBQ meat on your table.

Anyway, over there we decided to order Set B (pork) and a la carte – Kimchi Jeon. Each of us also ordered a bowl of plain rice.

Set B (pork) is suitable for 2-3 people. This set contains of 5mm of sliced pork belly, 2mm of sliced pork belly, marinated pork short rib and marinated chicken.

The pork bellies are crispy and the marinated pork rib is tender. The marinated chicken is tasty and juicy.

I like Kimchi Jeon most. Kimchi Jeon is a spicy Kimchi pancake. It was my first encounter with Kimchi Jeon and I like it. It's very very nice and crispy.

They used charcoal to barbeque the meat. And you need to ON the vacuum to suck the BBQ smell away. Over there they also gave a 8 types of Korean dishes and they all are free top up.

If you want to try Man Bok BBQ, I suggest you to make a reservation first. If not, you can prepare to go back with empty stomach since there will be BIG CHANCE that there is no space for you. It happens to me when I went there last year okay, haitz = (

Todamgol

Did you know that Tanjong Pagar road is known as a ‘Little Korea’ of Singapore? It’s because of many Korea’s restaurants operates around this road. One of the special and nice Korean restaurants around there called Todamgol.

The first thing attracted us to eat over there was its unique design and their cool decorations. Love the atmosphere and the cosy lighting make you feels comfortable. Maybe when you see their price, you will get cold feet =P

Just bear in mind that over there, every one dish is more than enough for 3 persons.

We ordered: Kim Chi Jun Gol, Charcoal Yang-nyum BBQ and Sam Gyub Sal. Each of us ordered a plain of plain rice.

As a starter, they served 6 different types of side dishes. There is no additional charge for those side dishes. The best thing is you may top up those side dishes. Oh, how I love Korean restaurant (greedy mode)!!

The first dish (and the best as well) they served was Kim Chi Jun Gol. The soup was fantastic! It was hot, spicy and taste heavenly. For me, just this dish and a plain of rice is enough to make my day brighter. And I can easily say that this is one of the best kimchi I tried so far.

Charcoal Yang-nyum BBQ is a marinated Chicken Charcoal BBQ. The chicken is tender and nice; the sauce is sweet.

Sam Gyub Sal is a pork belly. That dish comes with lettuce. The pork belly is tender and juicy. Just wrap the pork belly with the lettuce, and add their special sauce. I’m sure it will make a big smile on your face.

Overall, I was super satisfied having dinner at Todamgol.

It's really worth if you go with at least 3 persons.

Kim Chi Jun Gol S$30.00
