In the conjunction of Jakarta Fashion and Food Festival, there is a food fair event named Kampoeng Tempo Doeloe. Located at La Piazza area, Kampoeng Tempo Doele from 9 May - 1 June 2014.

Inspired by Pasar Gambir, Jakarta Fashion and Food Festival management decorate Kampoeng Tempo Doeloe to be as similar as Pasar Gambir. FYI, Pasar Gambir is a pasar malam that has been held in 1906 and yearly from 1921-1942 in the Koningsplein, Batavia, Dutch East Indies (now Merdeka Square - Jakarta, Indonesia) to celebrate the birthday of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands. After the Japanese occupied the Indies, this pasar malam was no longer held. However, after a failed attempt in 1952, in 1968, it was reinstated as the Jakarta Fair

Wa Cafe

Looking for a nice café to hang out around China Town area? You may try Wa Café.

Wa Café is a Japanese-Western café. This café provides free wifi and charging ports.  So you can enjoy browsing the internet and charging your handphone / laptop while eating at this place.

Visiting Wa café is not complete without trying their Honey Toast with Matcha & Ogura Paste. It is nice and the portion is also big. I believed you will feel full after eating this one.

If you are looking for a main dish, you may try Omu Rice. They have 2 types of Omu Rice: Demi Glace and Meat Sauce. I try Omu Rice Meat Sauce. The taste is not bad.

Will I go there again? Yes, once in a while.

Kopi Oey

Today I will review about a restaurant at Jakarta owned by Bondan Winarno.  FYI, Bondan Winarno is famous in Indonesian culinary. I believed most of the Indonesian people know him.  He is so famous with his word 'Maknyus' that he says in his television food programmed every time he tastes delicious food that he likes.

We accidentally found this restaurant after we had lunch at Pasar Baru area. So over there we only ordered some dessert: Banana Flambe Ala Mode and Milo Dinosaurus.

Banana Flambe Ala Mode is a recommended dessert in this restaurant.

Milo Dinosaurus is a beverage that is adapted from Singapore's Milo Dinosaur.

Overall we like both desserts so much.

Other than nice foods, their restaurant interior design also becomes a plus point to attract customer to come in. It's a retro and eye-catching.

Will I go there again? Yes

Banana Flambe Ala Mode IDR 28.000

Milo Dinosaurus IDR24.000
