Locker Room Sports Bar

Happy Tuesday to All!!!!

Today please let me share with you one restaurant named Locker Room Sports Bar. It is one of the sports bar located at Mohamed Sultan road. This bar provide games room also. For more details of the games room, you may check with their staff directly.

Although Locker Room is a bar, I will not review about their drinks and their night environment in this post. I will just focus on their lunch menu.

Currently they are having 1 for 1 lunch promotion, which I thought is worth to try. You and your friends can choose different dishes, and you just need to pay the highest price among those 2 dishes that you ordered.

We ordered Sporty Donkey Burger and Garlic Rosemary Chicken.

Sporty Donkey Burger consists of grilled homemade steak patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, gherkins, cheddar cheese and a slathering of Donkey sauce on the buns, fries and garden greens on the side.

Sporty Donkey Burger is delicious and the fries portion is generous.

Garlic Rosemary Chicken is a roasted chicken with garlic, rosemary, lemon sauce and mushrooms. Served with fresh rosemary, garlic mashed potato and daily veggies.

Since Garlic Rosemary Chicken is ordered by my colleague, I can't comment much. But he told me that the taste was not bad at all.

Will I go there again? Maybe yes.

Sporty Donkey Burger S$18.00

Garlic Rosemary Chicken S$15.00

Bakmi Pejagalan

Today I want to share with you one restaurant in Jakarta called Bakmie Pejagalan.

This place is famous for their Mee Tai Bak / Silver Needle Noodles/ Lou Syu Fan / Locupan. Do you have any idea what Lou Syu Fan is?

Lou Syu Fan is similar like a noodle, but it’s made from rice. It has white colour and the Lou Syu Fan’s shape is fat and short.

Since I am a pork lover, I ordered Pork with Mushroom Lou Syu Fan.

Frankly speaking the taste quite dropped when I visited them on May 2013. But, I still can finish one bowl of it.

Will I go there again? No.

Ambush

Looking for a nice, fast service and affordable restaurant at Takashimaya? You may try Ambush.

Located at the Takashimaya - 1st floor, Ambush is a European restaurant that offers many types of European dishes.

We ordered Crispy Chicken Ambush's Aglio Olio and Ambush Paella.

Crispy Chicken Ambush's Aglio Olio is nice; the chicken is crispy and tender. Just curious, I smelled fried Indomie (Indonesia’ instant noodle brand) aroma right after they served it. After I tried, surprisingly the taste is also quite similar like the indomie. Maybe they really use that ingredient =P

Ambush Paella consists of Prawn, Clams, Mussels, Sliced Bacon and Sausages.

Personally, I feel the taste is not bad and the seafood’s are fresh. But this is the first time I tried Paella. So, there is nothing for me to compare.

Crispy Chicken Ambush's Aglio Olio S$10.50

Ambush Paella S$11.80

Schneeballen

Today I want to share with you my Schneeballen finding when I went to Takashimaya Food Fair 2013 last week.

Introduction
Schneeballen is a traditional snack that can be found in nearly all the streets of Rothenburg. This snack made from pieces of long pastry dough, rolled up into a ball and deep fried in fresh oil. Usually, they eat Schneeballen during festivals or special occasions.

I bought Snowy Strawberry. Anyway, they have 14 Schneeballen variants, such as:
- Snow. It is a mild taste like melting snow of the Alps
- Cheese. Softness of fresh cheese
- White Chocolate. It is a delicate milky treat
- Snowy Green Tea. Has richness of tropical coconut with vibrant flavour of green tea
- White Crunch. Mild white chocolate with nutty crunch
- Cinnamon. Has sugary sweet taste of spicy autumn
- Strawberry. It is a refreshingly sweet as it is tangy
- Snowy Strawberry. This is delicate combination of rich coconut with sweet tangy strawberry.
- Chocolate.
- Snowy Chocolate. It is ensemble of deep, strong chocolate and soft coconut
- Garlic. It has mild garlic flavour in a bite
- Snowy Banana. It is a casual blend of two tropical fruits
- Chocolate Crunch. It is a rich chocolate with nutty crunch
- Pink Chocolate.

How to eat Schneeballen?
1. Put one Schneeballen inside a paper bag
2. Break it into smaller pieces inside the paper bag with a wooden hammer / hard objects.
3. Do not let the wodden hammer hit Schneeballen directly
4. Do not break too much till it becomes crumbs
5. Enjoy Schneeballen with your favourite beverage

Basically Schneeballen is nice, but it's too heaty and sweet for me.

Song Fa Bak Kut Teh

Song Fa Bak Kut Teh is one of the top Bak Kut Teh restaurants in Singapore. I am totally agree, it's just because their bak kut is very delicious.

I and colleagues ordered you tiao, big portion of Pork Ribs Soup and big portion of Braised Pig's Trotter.

The Pork Ribs is tender; the soup is hot and tasty. You are allowed to add the soup as much as you want (free-flow).

For me, eat bak kut teh will not be complete without you tiao. So, for the perfect taste, normally I eat the ‘you tiao’ with bak kut teh soup.

Their Braised Pig's Trotter is also not bad. The pork’s fat is not too much.

Most of their dishes are served in 2 portion options: normal portion and a big portion.

Overall, I am satisfied with my dinner over there. I will visit this restaurant again near in the future (confirm guarantee chop).

P.S.: This is my second times visit. Please take note that they only serve white colour soup bak kut teh.

Tong Ah Coffee Shop

Last Thursday, I found out from Royston Tan's Facebook that Tong Ah Coffee shop @ the old building will close down on 15 July 2013. It’s a bit pity knowing that it has been there for four generation.

Interested to take some pictures before the building + coffee shop disappear, I went to Tong Ah Coffee shop last Saturday afternoon. You may see the old building’s pictures over here.

Tong Ah Coffee shop was famous for their Kaya Toast and coffee.

Since I am not a coffee lover, I just ordered their Kaya Toast.

Their Kaya Toast is indeed delicious. The toast is crisply sweet and their fillings (for both margarine and kaya) are generous. The margarine will burst inside your mouth right after you eat it. It's very nice.

For Tong Ah Coffee’s supporter(s), no need to be sad. Their shop will open new branch at No.35 Keong Saik Road on beginning of August 2013.

And for the Old Building’s supporter(s), you might want to enjoy the old building’s pictures over here =P

Thanks for visiting, guys!!!

Bakmie Mul

Today I want to share with you one of my mom favourite’ noodles stall in Jakarta called Bakmie Mul. PS: Bakmi is Noodle.

Bakmie Mul locates beside Tunas Karya II primary school. FYI, I was their student before. You may see my primary school pictures here.

Last time, my mom would wait for me and my sister in front of the school’s gate. After met us, we would eat this noodle together. What a good memory.

This routine never ends even after I graduated from my primary. I and my mom STILL loves to visit Bakmie Mul occasionally even until now.

Normally, I order noodles with beef ball and dumpling. The tastes never change at all. And you know what surprised me; the owner’s face never change either. It still exactly the same, he never looks older!! Wow, must ask him whether he put some collagen ingredient on his noodle =P

Actually, other place might have better and more delicious noodles. But in my heart, no noodle restaurant can replace Bakmie Mul. Is just, I will always remember the happy moment whenever I eat this noodle.

River Garden Coffee House

Looking for a nice lunch buffet around Singapore River? You may try River Garden Coffee House. This restaurant located at River View Hotel.

River Garden Coffee House has buffet and a la carte menu.

I and colleagues went there to try the buffet. Thanks to my manager for the department lunch treat. Although the choices of food are less, but most of the dishes tastes are delicious.

Food choices ranges are mostly Western foods, Chinese foods, Japanese foods and Singapore foods.

Their speciality is durian pengat. Durian pengat is a Singapore's Peranakan food. It's similar like Indonesian food named kincha Durian. Just to share, back into my childhood time, sometimes my mom will make kincha durian. She will put the kincha in the fridge and normally we eat with plain bread.

Their service quality is quite good. They are fast enough to clean the dirty plate in our table and always replace the empty foods with the new one.

Will I go there again? Yes

Hope you will feel hungry after seeing these pictures = P  (Evil me)
