Tian Je Panda Moon Cake

Hello All!!

Today I want to share with you all another type of “Panda” Moon Cake.

Last two days, I shared a Mini Panda Snow Skin Moon Cake that I bought from Singapore.  And now, I want to share another type of Panda Moon Cake creation from our neighbour, Malaysia.

I am so lucky to get these cute panda moon cake from my sister. Her boss bought it straight from JB for her and the colleagues.

Searched from Google, you might find Tianji moon cake by Tatawa from their outlets (http://www.tatawa.com/outlet.asp)

There are two different flavours in every package. The pink one is Cranberry and the green one is Green Tea. Both moon cakes got this sweet fragrance and they both taste sweet.

Shin-Sapporo Ramen

Good Wednesday to Everyone!!

Today, let me share with you one new Japanese restaurant at Century Square – Tampines, called Shin-Sapporo Ramen.

Over there we ordered their chef recommendation, such as: Katsu Pork Curry Rice and Wakayama Tonkotsu - Shoyu Ramen.

Katsu Pork Curry Rice consists of Rosu Katsu (Pork Loin) deep fried in Nama Panko (fresh breadcrumbs).

The Pork Loin is very crispy and the curry is not that spicy.

Wakayama Tonkotsu - Shoyu Ramen consists of creamy tonkotsu broth, 2 slices of Yakibuta and Egg. The Yakibuta is tender and delicious.

The broth is good and rich, but it will be nicer if they serve the ramen and soup warmer.

Overall, both dishes are not bad.

To celebrate 2012 moon cake festival, 8 Tarts n Pastries introduced their new creation called Mini Panda Snow Skin Moon Cake.

They are inspired by the famous Kai Kai and Jia Jia.

I am amaze with 8 Tarts n Pastries for their brilliant idea. I had never seen a Panda moon cake like these before. Both Pandas are so damn cute and the taste is very nice.

Their Mini Panda Snow Skin Moon Cake made from healthy white lotus. They are selling at $16.80 for one pair. This moon cake is a limited edition. So, faster buy it at their outlet before you miss it.

My picture appeared in StreetDeal without permission

Last Thursday night, I found one of my Mao Shan Wang durian picture appeared in one of the StreetDeal advertisement.

I was very shocked to know that my picture was suddenly appeared without my acknowledgement. And the best part was, this irresponsible party had removed my watermark on the picture as well.

So, on the next day, I sent an email to StreetDeal to ask their accountability for this issue. I also requested them to remove my picture ASAP.

After investigating (by StreetDeal team), She (StreetDeal's customer service team leader) told me that the salesperson in charge with particular advertisement was responsible to this case.

She said that "the sales person had recently joined StreetDeal and StreetDeal management failed to emphasis the importance of crediting the rightful owner of the sources that are included in our campaigns, and that permission had to be granted before any usage." Also, she had sent the apology letter via email to me.

On top of that, she had promised that this kind of case would not be repeated any more in the future.

After StreetDeal team removed my picture and sent an apology letter, I considered this case was closed.

I am so disappointed with this case. StreetDeal is not only used my picture without my permission, he/she doesn't have the right to remove my watermark on the picture either!  How come a big company like StreetDeal makes this kind of mistakes?

I am just hoping that this case will not be repeated again in the future or I will take a further action.

Below is my Mao Shan Wang picture that StreetDeal had used.

Bahay Ni Kuya

Good Friday, Everyone!!

Last two weeks, I and colleagues went to Bahay Ni Kuya to try the Philippine cuisines. I was a bit curious since it will be the first time for me to try foods from Philippine. Everything must have the first time, anyway =)

Over there, we ordered Kuya's Deep Fried Chicken, American style Grilled Chicken Chop, Kuya's Lechon Kawali, Kuya's Special Tapsilog and Spaghetti in tomato sauce.

Kuya's Lechon Kawali is one of their speciality dishes. It consists of deep fried roast pork belly with rice. The Pork belly is really crunchy and the taste is nice.

Kuya's special Tapsilog is not bad as well. This dish consists of a sautéed beef with sunny side up egg and rice.

Overall, the dishes over there are okay! However, for me personally, some of the dishes’ tastes are slightly sour.

Maybe Filipino loves their food sour.

Kuya's Lechon Kawali S$8.80

Kuya's Deep-fried Chicken S$8.80

Boxup

“I love chocolate, oh yes I do.
Eating chocolate is a must too.
I love chocolate, how about you?”

Good news for Chocolate lovers!!

Boxup offers many varieties of chocolate to satisfy your sweet tooth.

FYI, Boxup is a chocolate subscription service that will deliver a lot of varieties of nice chocolate right to your doorstep every month. The system is similar like magazine subscription.

1 box contains of 9 chocolates, such as Good Night, Cream Cheese, Flamme Blanc, Raspberry Truffle, Miele, Exquisite and Basil.

Good night chocolate
Consists of dark Sesame paste in milk Ganache.

Cream Cheese chocolate
Consists of Walnut and Sultanas in French cream Cheese.

Flamme Blanc
Consists of Almond Gianduja.

Raspberry Truffle
Consists of white Ganache with fresh Raspberry.

Miele
Consists of white Ganache with Honey.

Exquisite
Consists of dark bitter sweet Ganache with high Cocoa content.

Basil
Consists of bitter sweet Ganache with Basil spice.

My favourites would be Cream Cheese and Raspberry Truffle. The Cream Cheese is very nice. The Raspberry is fresh and a bit sour.

The price of one box is $10.00 (include the delivery charge).

They are planning to change the price with a new packaging at $19.90 (exclude the delivery charge). They separate the delivery charge to allow for office delivery and neighbours to share the delivery charge, since office delivery is charge one time per location, it would be cheaper to separate it rather than include and give "free delivery".

Currently, Boxup is working to bring some of the famous chocolate brand into their business, like:
- Amedei from Italy
- Venchi from Italy
- Domori from Italy
- Valrhona from France
- Michel Cluizel from France
- Bonnat from France
- Pralus from France
- Dolfin from Belgium
- Amano from USA

For more other information, you may visit their website

Many thanks to David Tan for giving me the opportunity to review and enjoy the wonderful taste of Boxup’s chocolate.

Eighteen Chefs

Eighteen Chefs is one of a fine restaurant located at Simei Eastpoint Mall. It’s a quite popular restaurant among students / youngsters and adults around this area. It perhaps because of their affordable price, their food’s great taste and the generous portion as well.

Eighteen Chefs promise to provide their customer with good quality food at an affordable price - freshly prepared and fast every time.

In Eighteen Chefs, you can be your own chefs. You could customise either your pasta or cheese baked rice or cheese pasta with wide selection of 8 sauces and 12 different types of ingredients. Just be creative with it and left the cook portion with their professional chefs.

Over there, we tried 2 dishes which are:
1. Cheese Pasta with Creamy White sauce, Chicken Sausages and mushrooms
2. Cheese Baked Rice with Black Pepper sauce, Chicken Slices and Prawns.

Cheese Pasta with Creamy White sauce, Chicken Sausages and mushrooms is really tasty and the Cheese is really thick and creamy.

I was impressed with their Cheese Baked Rice with Black Pepper sauce, Chicken Slices and Prawns taste. It's super tasty and spicy.

Even though this restaurant is not that big, the overall decorations can make you feel cosy, creative and homey.

What is so special about this restaurant (other than their foods quality), Eighteen Chefs also train ex-convicts into chefs so that they can be able to work in the restaurant and thus able to integrate back into the society.

Overall, I enjoy our lunch over there. It's really worth to try.

Ho Kee Pau

Hello Everyone!!

I found this dim sum restaurant, Ho Kee Pau when went to Geylang for food hunting.

This restaurant sells many types of dim sum, such as: Loy Mai Kai, carrot cake, Big Pau, siew mai and many more.

We tried their Loy Mai Kai, Chicken Feet, Prawn Dumpling and Siew Mai.

Prawn Dumpling is one of the best seller foods over there. It is crispy and nice, but for me, it’s a bit oily.

Their Loy Mai Kai, Chicken Feet and Siew Mai are not bad either.

For the drink, we tried homemade Barley Water.

This restaurant’s decoration looks attractive for me. It got this vintage, old style restaurant that you usually saw in the old drama movie.

Chicken Feet S$3.00

Prawn Dumpling S$1.20
